MSI has recently introduced GeForce RTX 4070 graphics cards with 20 Gbps GDDR6 memory, replacing the standard 21 Gbps GDDR6X found on the regular RTX 4070. These cards are part of MSI's Ventus series, known for their value custom-design. The lineup includes four models: the smaller Ventus 2X, the larger Ventus 3X, and their OC variants with a slight factory overclock. The box art of these cards clearly indicates the use of GDDR6 memory, and their model numbers include the "E1" extension to signify the memory type.

The Ventus 2X card is equipped with a dual-fan cooling system and has dimensions of 24.2 cm in length, 12.5 cm in height, and is 2 slots thick. The regular variant offers a GPU Boost frequency of 2475 MHz, while the OC variant boosts up to 2505 MHz. Both cards can achieve higher overclock speeds using the MSI Center app. On the other hand, the Ventus 3X features a longer triple-fan cooling solution, measuring 30.8 cm in length, 12 cm in height, and also 2 slots thick. The regular Ventus 3X has a boost frequency of 2475 MHz, while the OC variant reaches 2505 MHz. The Ventus 2X meets NVIDIA's SFF-Ready card requirements, while the Ventus 3X falls just short by 4 mm.

Tests conducted by Wccftech show that there is only a slight 1-2% performance difference between the RTX 4070 GDDR6 and the original RTX 4070 at 1440p resolution. Despite launching at similar prices to the original RTX 4070, the use of cheaper memory could potentially allow NVIDIA partners to lower prices over time.
