Unboxing Preview: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Founders Edition
We recently had the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER Founders Edition. While NVIDIA has officially announced all three of its RTX 40-series SUPER graphics cards, including the RTX 4080 SUPER, which will be available for purchase on January 31, no press outlets have received a sample of the RTX 4080 SUPER Founders Edition just yet. However, we were able to catch a glimpse of it at the iBUYPOWER booth. As a major OEM/SI, iBUYPOWER has access to these cards, and there are no non-disclosure agreements preventing us from sharing pictures. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any information on its performance until later this month.
The RTX 4080 SUPER comes packaged in a large black box, similar to the one used for the RTX 4070 SUPER. The box opens diagonally to reveal the card inside. The card itself is massive, occupying three slots, and shares a similar design to the original RTX 4080 and RTX 4090 Founders Edition cards. However, there are some notable differences. The outer frame of the cooler is now made of matte-black magnesium alloy, with glossy black diamond-cut edges (instead of silver-chrome). The heatsink also remains matte black, thanks to its ceramic surface treatment. Additionally, the body panel behind the PCB features an embossed RTX 4080 SUPER logo. The RTX 4080 SUPER will be available for purchase starting January 31, with a starting price of $999.
