ViewSonic Unveils New 15.6-Inch 4K OLED Portable Display
Last week, IT Home reported that ViewSonic has introduced a new portable display to the Chinese market. The VX1622-K is a 15.6-inch 4K OLED monitor that is expected to be released globally soon. Various hardware news outlets have found documentation related to the VX1622-K on ViewSonic's global site, as well as standard drivers signed for Windows 10 & 11, indicating that it will not be exclusive to China.
The VX1622-K is similar in size to industry standard laptop displays and features an anti-glare multi-layer film on its main surface. It supports resolutions up to 4K (3840x2160px) with an aspect ratio of 16:9. The monitor has a 60 Hz refresh rate, a maximum brightness of 440cd/㎡, and a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. It has a 1 ms measured rating for screen responsiveness. The display's color gamut coverage includes 100% Adobe RGB and DCI-P3, although the spec sheet has a "TBD" marker next to this information. The color depth is rated at 1.07 billion colors (8-bit + FRC), and the settings can provide an HDR True Black 500 standard. The VX1622-K can be connected to computer hardware via its Mini-HDMI or Type-C connectors.
