AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D Now Available

The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D will be on sale starting today, November 7, 2024. This 8-core/16-thread processor comes equipped with 3D V-Cache technology and is built on the "Zen 5" microarchitecture. AMD has set the price for the 9800X3D at $480 (MSRP).

Recently reviewed by TechPowerUp, the 9800X3D has been deemed the top choice for a gaming PC setup, delivering the highest frame rates across all resolutions. It outperforms Intel's flagship Core Ultra 9 285K "Arrow Lake" processor by 12% in gaming (at 1080p). However, it falls short in productivity tasks due to its lower CPU core count compared to other CPUs like the more affordable Core i7-14700K or Core Ultra 7 265K. The 9800X3D shows a modest 5% improvement in gaming performance over its predecessor, the 7800X3D, and a 13% boost over the 5800X3D.
