Minisforum's Latest Mini PC: The 790S7
Minisforum is a well-known brand in the mini PC market, and their newest addition, the 790S7, is a powerful and compact option. While not the smallest mini PC at 7 liters, it is much smaller than traditional tower PCs.
The 790S7 is equipped with a 16-core Ryzen 9 7940HX 'Dragon Range' CPU, up to 64 GB of DDR5-5200 RAM, 4 TB of flash storage, and an RTX 4060 discrete GPU. Unlike other compact PCs from Minisforum, the RTX 4060 in the 790S7 is a full-fledged desktop variant, providing impressive performance. The Zen 4-based CPU offers 16 cores and 32 threads, making it capable of handling demanding workloads. The RTX 4060 GPU, while two years old, still delivers solid performance, though newer models may surpass it soon.
Connectivity options on the 790S7 include an audio jack, USB-A 3.2 Gen1x1, USB 2.0 Type-C port on the front, and various ports on the back such as 2.5 G ethernet, DP 1.4, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports.
Pricing for the 790S7 starts at $459 for the barebones version with the Ryzen 9 7940HX CPU. The version with 32 GB of RAM, 1 TB SSD, and RTX 4060 is priced at $939. There is also a barebones version with an Intel i9-12900HK CPU available for $399. All variants come with a 400 W power supply.
