AMD China Launching New Ryzen 7 9800X3D "Zen 5" Processor with 3D V-cache

AMD China is hosting a press event to introduce its latest Ryzen 7 9800X3D "Zen 5" processor featuring 3D V-cache. Invitations have been sent out to the Chinese tech press and select PC enthusiasts. The event will be held in Zhuhai on October 23 and 24, where visitors may have the opportunity to test gaming desktops powered by the 9800X3D with popular game titles. It is possible that AMD will also host an online press event for the global audience around the same time.

The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is anticipated to enhance AMD's gaming performance. In initial gaming benchmarks released by Intel for its upcoming Core Ultra 9 285K "Arrow Lake" processor, the new chip is shown to be within 3% of the Core i9-14900K, which is currently outperformed by the Ryzen 7 7800X3D. The 9800X3D is expected to further push the boundaries of gaming performance, possibly due to the higher IPC of "Zen 5" or the rumored 5.20 GHz all-core boost frequency. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is set to be available for purchase in the first week of November 2024.
